Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity

About

Since 1987 Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity has helped more than 1,200 families globally relocate from substandard and poverty housing into decent and affordable homes. More than 800 families have purchased a home in Greater Indianapolis and 425 in Central America. Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

As a nonprofit builder working in Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks and Marion counties, Habitat utilizes both skilled and unskilled labor through volunteers to build quality, affordable and marketable homes. Habitat is also a mortgage provider, originating and servicing 0% interest mortgages to its buyers. Along with their mortgage, Habitat buyers help build their own homes alongside volunteers as part of a “sweat equity” process. The foundations laid by Habitat go far beyond the physical structure of a home. Habitat for Humanity builds strength, stability, and independence through homeownership.
